About
Adam Rasheed is a ceramicist based in Los Angeles, working in handmade vessels and architectural tile. Self-taught, he came to clay on his own terms, building a practice through sustained work with material, glaze, and form.
His work begins with proportion and weight, quiet shapes made to hold their place in a room, their surfaces restrained and considered. Vessels and architectural tile are treated as one practice: objects and surfaces made in relationship to the spaces they enter.
Studio Statement
Adam Rasheed makes ceramics for the interior: handmade vessels and architectural tile, developed in collaboration with interior designers and architects.
Each project begins in material and resolves toward form, with surface kept deliberately quiet. The work is shaped slowly and by hand, glaze and material studied as closely as the forms themselves.
Photography is part of his visual practice, a way of studying form, light, and surface rather than a separate offering.
